See 6,000 Years of History at a Glance
Most timelines make you turn page after page, one event at a time. This fold-out hardback opens into wide panoramic spreads, printed on both sides, so you can trace every civilisation unfolding side by side — and finally see what was happening everywhere at once. Roughly 3.4 metres per side: it runs the length of a dining table and then some.

A Family Heirloom, Not Just Another Book
This isn’t something you use once and shelve. It’s a faithful reproduction of Sebastian Adams’s 1871 chart, restored for your home — built to be pulled out again and again, for years, not just a term. The kind of piece your children will still be studying — and one day hand down to theirs.

FAQs
How big is it, honestly?
Closed, about 27 by 53 centimetres — it stands on a shelf like a large atlas. Opened, it is roughly 3.4 metres on each side, and both sides are printed. It is made to be spread across a table or a floor, not hung on a wall.
Is it really suitable for children?
From about eight upwards, yes — and younger ones will happily look at the drawings long before they read the labels. There is nothing graphic in it. The illustrations are Victorian engravings: temples, tools, ships, portraits, costumes.
Where does the chronology come from?
Adams followed Archbishop Ussher, the seventeenth-century biblical chronology that places creation in 4004 BC. We would rather say so plainly than have it come as a surprise. If you want a chart built on modern archaeological dating, this is not that chart — it is a faithful reproduction of a Victorian one, and it is fascinating on those terms.
Will it actually get used, or just admired?
It tends to get used, because there is no way to take it in at once. People come back to it — a different band, a different century. That is also why it makes a better present than a book: it is not finished after the first reading.
What if it is not what I hoped?
Send it back within thirty days and we will refund you. You do not need to give a reason.

Built to Last
The quality is excellent and it feels built to last. I’m amazed by how much information the chart contains — I discover something new every time I open it.

Even Better Than Expected
This is so much more impressive in person than the pictures show. The artwork and the historical detail are fascinating. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys history.

Fascinating and Insightful
My husband and I have spread it out several times, and we find something new on every pass. It’s enormous, informative and genuinely absorbing.

6,000 Years in One View
The panels are much larger than I expected, and the chart lets you follow thousands of years in one continuous view. I’d recommend it for schools.

All I Can Say Is Wow
I’d seen a similar timeline on display and wanted one of my own. This has that same impressive scale, is easy to follow, and looks incredible unfolded.
